The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Part 5 of 5

The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: How do we honor a triune God?

How does a person worship the trinity of God? Do we honor all three equally? Is one to be worshiped above another? What is pleasing to God?

How can one place in the Bible say to baptize people in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and yet in another place say to baptize in the name of Jesus? Aren’t these statements contradictory?

Believe it or not, the two scriptures mentioned above are in perfect harmony. By taking a look at how God wants us to worship him we will see that God, the Father; God, the Son (Jesus Christ); and God, the Holy Ghost are joined in perfect harmony.

The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: God, the Father

As shown in part 2 of this series, “The Trinity of God – The Father” we learned our heavenly Father is the soul of God. It is he that initiates the will of God. He is the one that initiates the love of God. Everything begins with the Father. Just as we cannot see our soul we also cannot see the Father.

The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Father sends Jesus

It is the Father who sent Jesus into the world to save mankind.

John 6:39, “And this is the father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.”
The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Father ordains Jesus

The Father has ordained that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the object of our worship. Without worshiping Jesus there is no pleasing the Father. It is the will of God that Jesus be the object of our affection and worship.

John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
John 6:27, “Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.”
John 6:29, “Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
It is also the will of the Father that only through Jesus Christ, the Son, can anyone be saved.

John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”
Acts 4:10-12, “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
I John 5:10-12, “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Father imparts Holy Ghost in Jesus Name.

The Father will only send the Holy Ghost to men through the name of Jesus.

John 14:15-17, “If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
John 14:26, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
John 15:26, “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:”
Acts 2:32-33, “This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.”
The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Praying in Jesus name.

When a believer prays to God he must pray to the Father in Jesus name. It is in the name of Jesus Christ that the Father answers our prayers.

John 16:23-24, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”
John 14:13, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
John 15:16, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Father gives Jesus Judgment

The Father has given all judgment into the hands of Jesus Christ.

John 5:22-23, “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.”
John 5:26-27, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.”
Acts 10:42, “And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.”
The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Jesus to be Worshiped

It is obvious the Father mandates that Jesus is to be worshiped.

The Father:
Sent Jesus into the world to save the world.
Demands people to believe in Jesus for forgiveness of sin and salvation and eternal life.
Only sends the promised Holy Ghost to people in Jesus name.
Will only save those who believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God.
Ordained Jesus to be the Judge of all things.

I John 5:10-12, “He that believeth on the Son of God hat the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Holy Ghost Witnesses

The Holy Ghost does not speak of himself, but speaks about Jesus.

John 16,13-14, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
John 15:26-27, “But when the Comforter is come, whom I send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.”
Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judeaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
It is evident from the Holy Scriptures that Jesus is to be worshiped; and his name represents the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The Father demands that Jesus be worshiped and the Holy Ghost will only testify of Jesus. To worship Jesus is to worship God.

The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Spirit and Truth

The Bible tells us we must worship in spirit and in truth.

John 4:22-24, “Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship; for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth.”
The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: How Worship?

How do we worship the Father in spirit and truth?

In the above verses about the Holy Ghost ( John 15:26-27 and Acts 1:8) we learned that Jesus imparts the Holy Ghost, and the Holy Ghost only testifies about Jesus. Scripture also shows that those who have received the Holy Ghost will also testify about Jesus. To worship in spirit is to worship in the name of Jesus and to testify about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Worship in Truth

To worship in truth is also to worship Jesus.

John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

The Trinity of God – Worshiping Father, Son, and Holy Ghost through Christ: Jesus is Truth

Why is Jesus the truth?

Because he is the Word which became flesh and dwelt among us.

John 1:14, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
To worship in spirit and truth is to worship Jesus Christ the Son of God.
