Woman accuses ‘bomoh’ of rape

SIBU: A 37-year-old woman had reported a ‘bomoh’ to the police whom she alleged had raped her while treating her for severe cough.She claimed to have been raped in a hostel room at a sawmill in Bawang Assan around 9pm on Feb 2.

The 40-year-old bomoh from Indonesia was said to be popular among the locals.

He had come to heal the woman upon her request.

In the process of treating her, the bomoh was alleged to have requested her husband, also an Indonesian, to leave the room

The woman was hypnotised and raped by the bomoh, it was claimed.

Following her report, police picked up the suspect while he was on his way to Tanjong Manis on Feb 3.
